Reliable grocery deliveries

I've ordered from ASDA a few times now, mainly for my weekly shop. This time I got milk, bread, some frozen food, and a couple of cleaning supplies. The service has been consistently good. Deliveries are always on time, and the drivers are friendly. One time I had a substitution for a specific brand of coffee, but it was a decent alternative. It's just easy and reliable for getting the basics done. I keep coming back for that reason.

Good first shop value

I used ASDA Groceries for the first time last week. I needed to stock up on a lot of pantry items and some fresh fruit. The 20 pound off my first shop deal was a big draw. It made a real difference to the total. Delivery took 3 days to get to my place in Manchester, which was fine. Everything arrived in good condition. I got a lot for my money, so I'd say it was worth it.

i heard about an asda rewards thing, is it like tesco clubcard where you get points? or more like actual cash back?

P Paul Jones 3 weeks ago
It's more like cash back! You earn a percentage on certain items or complete missions, and it goes into a 'cashpot' you can then use on future shops. I've saved a decent bit with it.

It's pretty good, you get cashpot money back. not points, actual money. just remember to 'cash out' what you earn when you do your next shop, otherwise it just sits there.

is asda usually cheaper than tesco for a big shop? trying to save some cash but don't want to compromise too much on quality.

S Sarah Evans 1 month ago
I find Asda often beats Tesco on price, especially for their own-brand stuff and the 'Just Essentials' range. For branded goods, it's a bit more hit and miss, but overall my bill is usually lower.

For basic groceries and like, cleaning supplies, Asda is usually cheaper in my experience. Tesco sometimes has better deals on certain premium items, but for the weekly essentials, Asda wins for me.

what's the deal with booking delivery slots? do they fill up super fast like other supermarkets, especially for weekends?

L Linda E. 4 days ago
Weekend slots go quick for sure, especially Sunday afternoons. Best to book a few days ahead if you can. Mid-week is usually easier to get a spot.

Yeah, weekends are tough. I usually try to book mine on Monday or Tuesday for the following weekend. Makes it way less stressful.

They definitely have first-order deals. I've seen stuff like 5 off 40 or even more, depends on the time. Just make sure you hit the minimum spend. The code goes in at checkout.

i'm looking to buy a new air fryer, do asda's electricals usually have decent sales around black friday or other times?

B Brittany Lewis 1 month ago
Yeah, Black Friday is a big one for electricals at Asda, definitely. And around Christmas too. I've seen some good deals on kitchen stuff then.

They do sales on electricals, not just Black Friday but sometimes during other seasonal peaks like summer or before Christmas. Keep an eye on their George at Asda section online.
